Planned maintenance (maintenance windows)
3 min read · Status pages
A maintenance window is a scheduled announcement that your service will be temporarily unavailable. The status page shows a banner and the monitor will not generate alerts during the window.
Creating a maintenance window
1. In the monitor detail, click Scheduled maintenance
2. Enter the start, end and description
3. Optional: notify status page subscribers in advance by e-mail
What happens during the window
- The status page shows a yellow banner with the time and description of the maintenance
- The monitor is in the Maintenance state (yellow)
- Alerts are not sent, even if the monitor returns an error
- After the window ends, the monitor automatically returns to normal checking
Best practices
- Schedule at least 24 h in advance for proactive communication
- Be specific in the description (what is being done, how long it will take, who is affected)
- Send an e-mail to subscribers if you have it enabled
