Connect Telegram (3 clicks)

1 min read · Telegram alerts

Goal: Receive downtime alerts for your monitors on Telegram.

Fast as lightning: 3 clicks and you are connected. No tokens, no chat IDs, no BotFather.

Before pairing, make sure you are signed in to Telegram

You must have the Telegram app installed and be signed in (or at least registered with a phone number). Without being signed in, the Start button in the bot will not work and pairing will not complete.

We recommend pairing directly from your phone

Open /dashboard/settings in your mobile browser and click Connect - the Telegram app opens automatically on the same phone and you only need to tap Start. It works from a computer too, but you need the Telegram app installed and signed in on your PC (or copy the chat ID from your phone and enter it manually).

Notification settings with 1-click Telegram connection
In the Notifications section you will find the button for the 1-click Telegram connection.

Step 1: Open Settings

  1. Sign in to ePulz.io
  2. In the menu click Settings
  3. Scroll to the Telegram alerts section

Step 2: Click "Connect Telegram"

The blue button with the Telegram logo. After you click it, our Telegram chat @epulzio_alerts_bot opens.

Tip: If you do not have Telegram on your PC, open /dashboard/settings directly from your phone - the connection completes right after you press Start.

Step 3: Press "Start" in Telegram

In the chat with @epulzio_alerts_bot you will see a Start button (or type /start). The bot replies immediately:

Done! Your account [email protected] is connected to this chat.

From now on you will receive downtime alerts for your monitors here.

Done. Really. No copying numbers, no setting up tokens.

Step 4: Check that alerts are enabled

So that the messages actually reach you (chime, vibration, banner), make sure you have:

  1. Notifications for the Telegram app: Phone settings -> Apps -> Telegram -> Notifications -> allowed.
  2. The bot is not muted: In the chat with @epulzio_alerts_bot click the name at the top -> the bell icon must be on (not crossed out).
  3. No global Do Not Disturb mode on: Telegram -> Settings -> Notifications -> make sure they are not turned off for the whole app.

What the alerts look like

example.com is down
Target: https://example.com
Error: HTTP 502 Bad Gateway
Duration: 1 m 47 s
example.com is OK again
Outage lasted: 4 m 12 s

Disconnecting

In Settings click Disconnect. Or in Telegram send the bot /stop. After disconnecting you stop receiving alerts.

What if the confirmation does not arrive?

  • You did not press Start. Go back to the chat with @epulzio_alerts_bot and press Start (or type /start).
  • The link expired (valid for 15 minutes). In Settings click Connect again.
  • Alerts for the bot are turned off. Telegram -> bot profile -> unblock notifications.
